Completing the entire river means starting at its source in northern Minnesota, then paddling south until reaching saltwater at the Gulf of Mexico – roughly 2,340 miles.
The first map shows the locks and dams. which end just above St Louis. The second map plots the width of each river according to its average water flow volume.
